About Sokros
We automate judgement without abandoning it.
Sokros builds machine-learning infrastructure for organisations that assess, inspect and certify. We started with the hardest version of the problem — professional qualification marking, where every decision faces a learner, an assessor and a regulator — and built the architecture that survives all three.
Why we exist.
Assessment has a capacity ceiling: qualified markers are scarce, expensive and — being human — inconsistent under load. The obvious fix, pointing a chatbot at the pile, fails the first audit: same script, different answer, no record.
So we built the unglamorous version. A pipeline that reads evidence before it judges, checks hard requirements as rules, grades with written reasoning, and keeps every decision replayable. Marking that a centre can defend — to a learner on results day and to an EQA a year later.
Today that engine marks live cohorts for professional qualifications, and the same pattern — extract, gate, judge, audit — is extending to identity, inspection and bespoke regulated workflows.
Infrastructure, not features
We build the marking layer organisations stand on, the way payments companies build rails. Boring reliability is the product.
Regulated first
We design for the EQA visit, the appeal, the audit — not the demo. If a decision can't be explained from the record, it doesn't ship.
Configuration over code
New qualifications, units and brief years are authored, not programmed. That's what lets a small team serve many awarding bodies without forking the engine.
Sovereignty is a feature
UK, EU and Gulf in-region hosting, and fully on-premise deployment, exist because our customers' data obligations are real — not marketing.
